Sanguine – three more interpretatons

sanguine - next three

Here’re the next three receipts in our VCQ Sanguine postcard exchange!  On the back of Lucy Ricardo’s Santa card: ‘sanguine’ adjective: 1. Confidently optimistic and cheerful. 2. Inclined to a healthy reddish color often associated with outdoor life, ‘a ruddy complexion.’ ‘Santa’s rubicond cheeks.’

On the back of the skeletal hand (done by Paula Golden, an artist who was formerly a blood bank specialist): exsanguinate, 1. to drain of blood, to make bloodless. 2. to bleed to death.  This card was preceded by a warning that it was not intended to be macabre or to offend, but a celebration of hands.

And from the back of the third card by Elaine Myers, this quote: His sanguine spirit turns every firefly into a star.  -Arthur Conan Doyle, Sr.
