Spring in Maymont

What a beautiful spring we’re having!  For Grandpa/Eli time yesterday morning, the three of us went to Maymont.  For those of you unfamiliar with this gem of a park here in Richmond, check out their web site: http://www.maymont.org/

Eli particularly wanted to see the bears, so we were all thrilled that they were out and playful.  Even with the many times I visited the gardens, we discovered new paths, one of which is right behind the cliff where the bears were hanging out!

We must have walked at least three miles, much of it steep hills, and Elijah at 3 years old made the full circuit in good spirits.  I myself was dragging a bit.  Dogwoods and azaelas were in bloom everywhere, and the hillsides were covered with buttercups.  A lovely day!
