The Christmas Tree

For the past several years, with our girls moved out and often not nearby, its been rather sad putting up the old tree with no one but us to enjoy it.  I really like our vintage pine – its grown on me.  And this year, it received the wonder due a fresh picked spruce adorned with lighted candles – which is what it probably looked like to grands Eli and Lily!  They burst into the living room Tuesday night exclaiming and jumping (literally) with excitement – “A Christmas Tree!!”  They have a tree at home, but a two foot child-proof version.  They were thrilled, and I was thrilled!  What fun!!

And then we had cake and ice cream for Grandpa Tim’s birthday – doesn’t get much better than that, especially if you’re two or three years old!
