Hand Dyed Scarves

Yesterday Quilting Adventures, our local quilting arts store, celebrated New Years Day with hour-long classes, all day, all supplies provided.  I took four – my favorite was hand painting a silk scarf.  Tomorrow I’ll post some photos from the others.

For the scarves, we used Setacolors fabric paint, diluted 2 parts water to 1 part paint.  Most of us first dampened the silk, then dropped the paint on.  A couple used resist, which they dried with a hair dryer since the timeframe of the class was so short.  Then painted within the resist.  Everyone had lovely results!
