Cape Henry

Here’re a few views of the lighthouses on Cape Henry.  Both are located on the military base, Fort Story, so we had to stop and have our vehicle inspected before entering the area.  Great photo ops walking up the 1792 structure !  As an added benefit, there’s a stretched penny machine in the gift shop!  All four of us got one!  We also discovered that the man who took our admissions, John Starling, was the lightkeeper for both lighthouses, and we had a pleasant chat with him.

The ‘new’ 1881 lighthouse isn’t open to visitors.  You can find more info at  http://www.apva.org/capehenry/

Here’re links to a few videos I took on the beach at Sandbridge. I copied them to my ipod so I’ll have the sounds of the ocean always nearby.
