Color Block Prints

Cloth Paper Scissors captures my imagination again!  I’d been itching to do some block prints using different colors, but didn’t want to carve multiple stamps.  Then in the September/October 2010 issue of C/P/S Patricia Gaignat has an article on “Faux Silkscreen” – colored block prints using craft foam!  Check out one of her samples here: http://www.clothpaperscissors.com/media/p/6336.aspx

The foam is easy to cut and texture, and makes a great stamp!  Adhering the cut out to acetate makes it very easy to place the interlocking images.  Clean up was a snap with diaper wipes.

I experimented with the windowsill photo I worked with earlier this summer and was pleased with the result.  Then made the simple apple stamp to share the technique with my sister.  Now to try the stamps with fabric…
