Counting the days til the toms turn red! I’m gardening for my Mom and Dad at Covenant Woods this Summer, since I’m over there so much anyway. After working the heavy clay soil of the Rockwood Park Community Gardens for six years, the sandy loam of Hanover is a delight. Plenty of sun, water hose ten feet from the plot, and fences for animal protection! That last at least keeps away the bunnies, but I spotted a squirrel whipping over the top the other day carrying a green tomato in its mouth. Oh well!
Growing Better Boy, Beefsteak, Romas, jalepenos, green peppers, cabbages, lavendar, zinnias, and sunflowers.
